Peer Review Process

Dedikasi Mandiri Nusantara: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) applies a double-blind peer review system to maintain academic rigor and publication quality. Every submitted manuscript will be reviewed by at least two qualified reviewers in the relevant field. This process evaluates the originality, relevance, and contribution of the manuscript before acceptance.

The peer review process involves the following steps:

  1. Submission
Manuscripts are submitted through the Online Journal System (OJS). For convenience, temporary submission by email may also be considered.
  2. Initial Editorial Screening
The editorial team checks the manuscript’s compliance with the journal’s focus, scope, and formatting guidelines. A basic assessment of academic quality, including methodology, is also conducted. Eligible manuscripts are then screened for plagiarism using Turnitin.
  3. Evaluation by the Editor-in-Chief
The Editor-in-Chief evaluates the originality, significance, and potential contribution of the manuscript. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected at this stage.
  4. Reviewer Invitation
The handling editor assigns the manuscript to reviewers with relevant expertise and ensures no conflict of interest. In the double-blind system, both authors and reviewers remain anonymous.
  5. Reviewer Response
Invited reviewers confirm their availability. If they are unable to review, they may suggest alternative experts.
  6. Review Process
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript comprehensively and provide feedback with recommendations: acceptance, revision (minor/major), or rejection.
  7. Editorial Decision
The Editor-in-Chief, together with the handling editor, makes a decision based on reviewer reports. If there are significant discrepancies between reviewers, an additional review may be requested.
  8. Communication with Authors
Authors receive the editorial decision along with anonymized reviewer comments. They are expected to revise their manuscript in line with the provided feedback.
  9. Revision and Final Decision
Revised manuscripts are resubmitted and re-evaluated (major revisions may be sent back to reviewers; minor revisions assessed directly by editors). Once the manuscript meets standards, it proceeds to copy-editing and final publication.

The peer review process generally takes 2–4 weeks. Accepted articles are published online in open access PDF format.
